Nunn-Dobbs St Andrew's Presbyterian church was the setting for a pretty evening wedding last month, when Gordon David, second son of Mr and Mrs Nunn, Rockhampton, was married to Norma June, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. A. Dobbs, Boolburra. The Rev. A. E. Dempster performed the ceremony. The bride made a charming picture as she entered the church, to the strains of the Wedding March, escorted by her father. She wore a floor length gown of white all-over lace over taffeta. The tight-fitting bodice featured a sweetheart neckline trimmed with lace applique flowers and finished with seed pearls and silver beading. The three-quarter length sleeves were shirred at the elbows, and the gored skirt, which fell gracefully to form a long train, featured a peplum. Her embroidered Brussels net veil was surmounted by a scalloped halo, trimmed with orange blossoms. Lace mittens, a string of pearls, and, for something old, a sovereign brooch, lent by the bridegroom's mother, completed her toilette. Her beautiful bouquet of arum lilies, gladioli, dahlias chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern was tied with white satin streamers. Mrs E. Bauer (Biloela), sister of the bride, was matron of honour, her pretty frock of pink embossed ninon featured a gathered skirt. The bodice, which was made with a low neckline, was finished with panels of shirring. The same trimming adorned the short puff sleeves. She wore long pink mittens and her pink tulle halo effect headdress was trimmed with clusters of pink and blue flowers. Her bouquet was of pink and tawny dahlias and chrysanthemums, tied with matching ribbon. Little Pamela Bauer, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Her dainty frock of pale blue embossed organdie was sashed with blue velvet ribbon. She wore blue mittens and a blue tulle headdress trimmed with flowers and carried a posy of mauve chrysanthemums. Mr Malcolm Nunn, the bridegroom's brother, was best man. During the signing of the register Mrs V. Ireland, the bridegroom's sister, sang "l'll Walk Beside You." The reception was held at the Grosvenor Hotel, where the bride's mother assisted by the bridegroom's mother, entertained 30 guests, relatives and close friends of the happy couple. The bride's mother wore a floral silk linen frock in aqua blue tonings and added a spray of creamy frangipani, and black accessories. Black accessories were also worn by Mrs Nunn, who chose a frock of pink silk linen, featuring pintucking and embroidery, to which she pinned a spray of frangipani and bebe roses. Mr Roy Fleming presided at the breakfast table and the customary toasts were honoured and the congratulatory telegrams read. Pride of place was given to the two-tiered wedding cake. When leaving for the honeymoon, which is being spent in a tour of Cairns and surrounding districts, the bride travelled in a frock of cinnamon suede crepe adorned with gold buttons, and brown accessories. -Edungalba correspondent.
